We report results according to each microarray chip maker’s specifications. These tables show the possible values for the Result column and their meanings.
Result – Displays the allele values for the SNP. Position – Displays the specific location on the specified chromosome of the SNP. For an autosomal file, that is 1 through 22. Chromosome – Displays the name of the chromosome where the SNP is located. 
RSID – Displays the RS number for the SNP in the NIH dbSNP database. The results files contain the following four data columns: Once you have extracted a CSV file, you can open it with a text-editing program or a spreadsheet program. Many such programs are available at no charge. 
To extract the CSV file from the GZ file, you will need compression/decompression software to unzip the file. In order to properly read these files you must first extract them from their compressed format. We compress them into GZ (zipped) files for storage and portability.
Build 37 Concatenated Raw data - This includes all autosomal SNPs including those found on the X chromosome.įamily Finder raw results files are comma-separated-variable (CSV) files. Build 37 X Chromosome Raw data - This includes only autosomal SNPs found on the X chromosome. 
Build 37 Autosomal Raw data - This includes all autosomal SNPs except those found on the X chromosome. For this reason, Build 37 raw data is available in three formats: Because of the nature of autosomal DNA, X-chromosome data is sometimes not used for particular research purposes. Īutosomal raw data is formatted according to the Genome Reference Consortium Build 37 (GRCh37) structure for SNP positions. On the navigation bar at the top of the page, go to Results & Tools > Autosomal DNA > Download Raw Data. On the Autosomal DNA Results & Tools widget, click the See More button, and select Data Download. On your dashboard, locate the Autosomal DNA Results & Tools widget. You can access Family Finder Downloads from your dashboard or from your navigation bar. The Family Finder - Downloads page allows you to download your autosomal raw data to analyze the results of each SNP. Your Finder Finder test uses a microarray SNP chip to test over 700,000 autosomal single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The Family Finder Downloads page allows you to download your autosomal raw data in a variety of formats.
